Opening speech was done by Prof. Dr. M.A. Islahi, JNU Arabic and African Studies. Prof. Islahi said: “We are glad to introduce such a figure who appeared 100 years ago with his ideas. It was not useless that he was given the name ‘Bediuzzaman-Wonder of the Age, because he suffered a lot, then deserved this title. Nursi taught that Islam is not a religion of violence, but is a religion against the violence.’
Dr. Mujeebur Rahman, coordinator of the symposium made an informative speech. In his speech, he said: “Nursi is not known in India and unfortunately India is unaware of Nursi` s dynamic approach in his commentary. There are a lot of things that we should learn from him.”
Janab Arif Muhammad Khan, Minister of State, India denoted: “I made a research about Risale-i Nur, read it and I can describe Risales as ‘Barakath-ul Qur`an’. After Mr. Khan`s speech, other academics from different countries presented their studies on Risales.
All the symposiums have been contributed and promoted by Istanbul Science and Cultural Foundation from Turkey.
